Welcome to Souloscope. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring your personal and astrological data is handled securely and transparently.

1. Information We Collect

A. Astrological Birth Data

• Name / Username
• Exact Date of Birth
• Exact Time of Birth (required to compute the Lagna/Ascendant and Nakshatra)
• Place of Birth (geocoded to Latitude, Longitude, and Timezone)

B. Family & Relationship Profiles

• Relative Name and Relationship
• Relative Birth Date, Time, and Location
• You warrant that you have obtained explicit consent from any individual before uploading their birth details.

C. Account & Authentication Data

• Email Address and Password Hash
• Authentication Tokens (JWTs and refresh tokens)

D. Billing & Transaction Data

• We use Razorpay for payment processing. We do not store raw card or payment credentials.
• We log transaction histories (credits debited/credited and INR equivalents) on our secure ledger.

E. AI Interactions (MAION Chats)

• Your text queries and planetary placements are processed by MAION.
• Conversations are retained while your account is active and permanently deleted when you erase your account. We do not sell or share raw chat transcripts.

F. Device & Telemetry Data

• IP Address: Used for rate limiting and geolocation validation.
• System Telemetry: Optional, only if you submit a bug report.

2. How We Use Your Information

1. Vedic Calculations: Chart, dasha, and divisional chart computation using JPL DE440 ephemeris data on our secure backend.
2. AI Interpretations: MAION receives computed planetary placements only — never your email, billing information, or precise location coordinates.
3. Core Services: Daily panchanga, horoscope summary, dasha timelines, compatibility scoring, and spiritual calendar notifications.
4. Operational Security: Rate limiting, session validation, and billing ledger auditing.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell or lease your personal data. Data is shared only with:

• Razorpay — payment processing
• Firebase Cloud Messaging / Apple Push Notification service — push notifications
• GitHub API — bug reports only (sensitive details stripped)

Public Chart Share: Share links display planetary placements and your first name/username only. They never reveal your exact birth time, coordinates, email, or billing details.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

• You may edit or delete your data via the Settings Screen or by contacting support at any time.
• Account deletion permanently purges your profiles, placements, and AI chat history from our active databases.
• Financial transaction history is retained as required by law for anti-fraud and accounting purposes.

5. Security

• All data in transit is encrypted via SSL/TLS.
• Passwords are hashed with bcrypt.
• API endpoints are secured with JWT (HS256).
• Strict ownership checks prevent cross-account data access.

6. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not intended for individuals under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with their details, please contact us immediately.

7. Region-Specific Rights

India — DPDP Act, 2023 & IT Act, 2000

• We act as a “Data Fiduciary”; you are the “Data Principal.”
• Processing is based on your explicit consent given during onboarding.
• You have the right to access, correct, or permanently erase your data via the Settings Screen.

EU & UK — GDPR / UK GDPR

• Legal basis: explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
• You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to processing, and exercise data portability.
• You may lodge a complaint with your country’s Data Protection Authority (DPA) or the ICO.

8. Policy Updates

We will notify you of material changes by updating the Effective Date above or via in-app notifications.
